No, not the TV show.
The bear
Brown eyes and black hair
A retired people pleaser
That doesn’t like to share
Not her belongings
Nor her thoughts
Yet, for her loved ones, she always has enough to spare
She’s everyone’s friend
And everyone’s mother
People like her smile
But all she desires is to have a lover
Someone to realise that adored smile
Is an intricately crafted cover
That she laughs her heart out
But cries in confinement
Without a peep or a sound
In fact, if she could, she’d refuse to do it
Until she was six feet under the ground
The bear loves her people, herself, and her art
She loves nature with all her heart
The rivers, the trees, the sky
And how the graceful birds dance and fly
All she had to leave behind
Was never forgotten
From her mind
She left streams of tears
And ingrained claw marks
And walked out into
The unknown dark
So she could find her true self
Without help
From anybody
Else
I haven’t been active lately, med school has been extra busy lol (proceeds to cry). But, thankfully, I was still able to sneak this one out of my head.
I thought you guys deserved it. This is one of my favorite poems of mine, only because I see myself in it. I look in the mirror and I see the bear. I look into my eyes, and I see hers. I look down on my hands and I feel a phantom of invisible claws. I think of her often, and I sometimes wonder what she would think of me.
Anyways, thank you for reading. It really means a lot to me that you guys take the time to read my work. If you like this poem, subscribe for even more mediocre poetry :)
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
